Old Testament Cartoon

Almost home to Dubai... just a few more days. And in the meantime I'll throw you a odd piece of humor with a Bible trivia twist.

This cartoon is from Mike Peters and it's titled Mother Goose and Grimm. Here is his website. Go check it out.

The cartoon below is an obvious reference to America's judicial branch resistance to public postings of the Ten Commandments. Numerous places have ruled it to be unconstitutional because it favors one religion over another. The cartoon below obviously includes Moses and Pharaoh of Egypt.

But here's the trivia twist... Can you tell me in what way this cartoon misrepresents Biblical history?

Let me know what you think in the comment section.

other than the fact that Moses was quite certainly not a white European looking man?
wait, it has to do with space and time doesn't it?

Hey Ber... well, to be honest, Joanne just came up with a second one! I wasn't thinking of Moses looking "white". But I guess you're right. But there are two more. Here's a hint... think of the Biblical story timeline; what happened when?

i got one of those, I was trying to give a veiled reference with the "space and time" comment so as not to spoil it. that has to do with when the 10 commandments were given. but I can't see the second one you mention. does it also have to do with biblical timeline?

well you got the first one right... and the other one has to do with how the ten commandments are represented... another anachronism.

Roman Numerals? surely not.
Law given after Pharoah died in the Red Sea.

Yes, Eric! Roman numerals came hundreds of years later as far as I can tell from a little research. And yes, you both recognized that Moses never showed the ten commandments to Pharoah... they came after Pharoah.

Bravo!
