I am impressed by the scale and the grandeur effect of this mosque, but to have this much extravagance and display of wealth for a house of God kind of defeats the purpose of humility and humbleness towards God.
Interestingly, there is a lot of floral element/ patterns used and the absence of any Quranic verses/ calligraphic writings is a unique albeit different design choice.
You took great pictures. I am working on a mosque here too, which is patterned after the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, and we (my colleagues and I) always have a debate over certain design elements used in the mosque. Makes for a lively day at work to say the least. :-)
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16) (Read by Max McLean. Provided by The Listener's Audio Bible.)
