Native Deen: Islamic Hip Hop Group Out With New Recordings

You may remember that I met up with the US based hip hop group Native Deen here in Dubai over a year ago. (Deen means "religion") We had some great conversation about truth and comparative religions. They've just come out with a new recording. And here is the music video from the group.

I so wish the very Muslims who condemned me for listening to music would explain for someone like Native Deen to come up with music. Back in Aug this year, we had a massive debate at home about music and islam, and it got really messy. I would like to know what Native Deen's reasoning is for creating and listening to music!

M (and others)... I think this might be what they would refer to... http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?pagename=IslamOnline-English-Ask_Scholar/FatwaE/FatwaE&cid=1119503545728

But even the author of the above article acknowledges that his opinion is a minority opinion about music. I would like to know how the majority scholars reason and what is their justification for saying all music is haram.
